Maybe we have been ripped like usual by other manufacturers, spoke to a retail outlet and they believed it was the normal Leupold " lifetime " warranty on it also.

All electronics dont have the life time warranty but i do believe having the leupold gold band it will be covered for 5 years ,warranty covers any defects in materials and workmanship in the electronic components of illuminated riflescopes/sights, flashlights, flashlight components, RX Rangefinders, GX Rangefinders, Pin Caddie Rangefinder, RCX Cameras and Vendetta Archery Rangefinder. This warranty lasts for five years from the date of purchase. If, during that five-year period, these products are found to have defects in materials or workmanship, Leupold will repair, or if repair is not possible, replace the product, free of charge. This includes the thermal new release

deer243 you beat me to the punch on the no reviews I'd like to see a few comparisons with other models makes....I do like the size of this one though.
I think you could mount it on the side of your rifle to have hands free as you scan.
Our just hang around next like duck caller.
Like that it's a monocle though, as I'm one of those strange ones that shuts one eye when looking though bins
