    leupold warranty

Ive got a vx3 about 12yrs old but it seems to have losing its clarity. My vx1 seems clearer to look through. Would it be covered under warranty? Also i see a few people on here have sent back direct. Is it easy done, Do you need to email them first etc?
Not far away from taking back a pair of bino's so i thought at the same time i might do both.

Yeap send it back to them, at the very least they will service it, clean/replace lenses and re gas it for you, they may even just offer you a new scope

many years back i had a 4x32 leupold on my 22. i lost my footing landed on the rifle and snapped it in 2.
sent it back to leupold (usa) with an explanation asking if it could be repaired
a new scope arrived in the mail.

Some retailers have a nasty habit of not sending the scopes on to the distributor for some time...I have heard of plus 4 weeks several times now.

I know there wasn't any hold ups at the retailer's end.

You won't have any issues with this - Leupold have a world renowned warranty.

First, go to their website and complete their online warranty form. This should give you a number of things - like a shipping address to send it to and a warranty claim number that allows you to track the repair etc.

Secondly, send them some photos of your hunting trips and include shots showing their product out in the field. Seriously. They love getting feedback from around the world and photos are likely to end up on their smoko-room wall. It's a small price to pay for the smiles the team will get when they open the box.

Typically the turn-around time is 14-20 working days (plus shipping etc.) and I'm sure you'll be impressed with their service.

I would recommend to avoid going through a local shop or similar, I had one come back with different turrets to what I ordered. Even though I sent a picture of the turrets I wanted changed with the scope.

What courier service are you guys using to send in your scopes for warranty? Just got told by NZ Post that they won't ship firearms parts. Seems a bit strange that a scope is that dangerous.

There's been a couple of threads started on this. Essentially fast ways to a depot or main freight or one other are ok with firearms

Right on, need to get the scope to the US so not really a firearm. Will ring up mainfreight and see how we go.

See if @gimp can advise how he sent his scope back to Leupold just recently.
