Thread: light weight Sako stock build.... is it light enough yet?

    I will be taking my resin only Paulownia stock into a particularly rough looking block in Haast for 7 days the end of march, so will report back on how it holds up.

    Good tip on the jandel recoil pad, did you laminate 2 layers of Jandel or just do one? My rifles a 300wsm, so plenty of padding is appreciated...

    slip on pads are pretty lightweight.... anyone remember swarbothane of the 80s it was on thats incredible guy puts 3" thick piece over hand and someone else slams it with 8lb sledgehammer was shown in adverts manytimes.

    so i should have made it lighter... because i ended up carbon wrapping it. ill post the whole build soon when i get the final finish on it. but here where im up2

    If you wrap then often why not use a tooling foam? Also where do you get the wood from?
