I've gone from the La Sportiva's to Salewa Alp Mid boot. Just a bit more space in the toe box has made a world of difference to comfort. The grip is excellent. I expect this will probably come at the cost of sole longevity but for the moment I think I've found my go to boot now. Already had a pair of salewa mountain trainer shoes which I scored for $80 from macpac on clearance. Last pair in the shop were my exact size. Sometimes you win.
    Shearer and Jhon like this.

Have given the distributer feedback to feed back up to La Sportiva that the previous model was far superior.

Yeah, I've had Rapace boots before and liked them, wanted to go synthetic as I really like the feel of the boot being able to dry through the day after getting soaked through and was worth them being a little less durable. The first model of La Sportiva Trangos lasted as long as some of the leather boots I've had anyway.
This sort of BS pisses me off.

I’d go back and throw your weight around.
The Consumers Guarantee’s Act is very clear and simple.
A product must be fit for purpose.
It should also last for a reasonable period of time.
It’s incumbent on them to prove you’ve abused them, and used them for something outside of their purpose. For example riding your motorbike at the speedway, and grinding a hole in the side of the boot. Ask them to show you where it states you shouldn’t walk in them too much or too far, or on a formed track.
Whoever said that must be a fucking halfwit.

I’d take them back again, say you’ve had some advice. You’ll give them one more opportunity to rectify their faulty product.
Failure to do so, and you’ll be taking it up with the commerce commission, and furthermore you’ll be posting the whole experience on Facebook and Instagram.

You should have them scrambling to give you a new pair.
