    Lightweight 3 Man Tent Recomendations

    Gday all,

Currently on the hunt for a lightweight 3 man tent, and looking for recommendations.

I am 6’4 so would prefer something where my feet aren’t hanging out the end, and something that has a bit of room for gear.

Primary use is for hunting year round in the wider Canterbury region.

Willing to spend up to $1000 for the right tent.
I’ve done a bit of research myself, but keen to hear others opinions - open to anything.

    Cheers James

Finding something to fit 3 people will be the hardest bit.
Im like you 6'4 and brought a Durston mid solid it's a 2p plenty of length and awesome tent.
My son is 6'6 and he brought a stone glacier very nice but $$

I haven't owned one but possibly a Macpac Olympus, although most would say it's better as a 2 man tent

MSR Access 3. Impressed with mine. Very light for the volume of space if gives you and is what they call a bushline 4 season tent so it stands up to the weather well without being a 6kg mountaineering tent.
Bit more than your $1000 budget but someone might be selling a secondhand one?

https://oneplanet.au/product/goondie-3-mesh/ These are a good well made tent (ok, my 2 man is). You have options of mesh or solid inner and a 4 season outer. 2250 mm long in the sleeping area.

I got the big agnes copper spur hv ul3 prior to this roar. Have only had 3 nights in it. One night of shit weather. Would fit 3 people without gear but is nice and roomy with 2 people plus gear. Would recommend getting the foot print which I unfortunately didn't as it's very light weight material including the base

KIWI Camping - Weka 3 person. For ~$320 on sale couldn't recommend it high enough for value for money. I have the 2 person version which has been used across all four seasons and never shown any signs of weakness. Stood up quite happily next to my mates MSR on a couple of wet and windy roar trips.

Macpac aspiring. Not super light but fine if 3 people are carrying it. One thing you don’t want is gear failure in winter along way from a vehicle. Sleeping beside a car go cheap, but seeing as your talking weight go reliable.
