Down Hugger 900 #5 Long | Montbell America

This is what I'm looking at getting. Like you I have a moonraker for cold trips so this would make a good bag for everything else, small light weight and full length zip so if it gets a bit warm unzip and use as a blanket.

Impressive compression. Good to see 900+ lofts more common.

Good work batman, the syn prodigy looks good.
Good on you getting the boys involved, plan is to take my 7yr boy out for an overnighter in the Kawekas over summer, might need to buy the prodigy myself!!

I've been looking to synthetic as a next bag, tend to get condensation in our fly camps

Went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

When do you need a bag by? I'm back end of November so could potentially bring back to avoid custom fees etc

Cheers Nibblet no hurry... mate is over start of November but has a narrow window to get to his in-laws to collect (and is not a fan of them so any excuse to skip a visit....) ... be keen to take you up on that. Thank you.

With the DWR/water resistant outers I'd stay with down for packability... but the gap has closed a lot. I have a Kuiu kenai jacket, or did as the eldest boy has claimed it....synthetic but bloody good.

Cool alright, did the rabbits with them lastnight, kids make good retrievers.
Just dreaming on the bag, got a borah gear bivy so maybe should just go for down. All my bags are 10-15 years old and show their age after a few nights out!

Yeah, I think torpedo7 snaked the import/distribution from iclimb but they hardly stock anything. Maybe they were more interested in trying to squeeze out a competitor than actually selling the stuff.

Might have to rethink quilts! This looks pretty good. Katabatic Gear - Ultralight Backpacking Quilts | Backpacks | Bivys | Sawatch 15°F

Mont Bell is piece of piss to get into NZ. Order direct off their US site. Reasonable shipping charges (free last time I bought a sleeping bag IIRC) and have a club card deal thing so you get the occasional cheap offer and discount pricing.

I just signed up online and got sent the card. No different to Macpac club card type deal I guess. Mont Bell make some shizzle gears.
