I own 2x wear on earth down jackets. NZ made from an awesome guy called Blair. $340 each with a lifetime warranty. Macpac for down? Naaa

He can also customize your down jacket to whatever weight and size you require (and downfill)

Just needs internal tourism to kick in.
We travel south every year by bike or Landcruiser and always make Hanmer a stop.
Thats what a lot of people dont get. Tourisim "picking up again? When Kiwis travel in NZ they do so knowing the local stores so a lot of the tourist spots will get visitation but not spend. Most tourisim operators are aware that for the most part they are effectively out of business until the borders reopen and that is at least a year away probably longer.

Think of it this way- when Kiwis travel around NZ where to they get the bulk of their food? How do they get there? and where do they stay? Most international travellers come here for the experience, the dining and to do something they cannot come back to so they will do everything. Us locals tend to pick a few things, use takeaways and not restaurants, and motels not high end resorts.

How many rental cars are used by tourists? (And will kiwis drive their own car or get a rental?)
How many campers will remain idle?

This flows down. Food suppliers to those Hotels and fine dining wont be hiring staff.
Cleaning companies wont need so many staff to clean the rooms,

She has not simply butt raped the country- she still has it firmly up there and is wriggling it around to make sure it stays down......If tourisim operators are staying in business, then they will have to drop half their staff to survive. Even Ski fields are looking at ways of running on reduced offerings / staffing.

Just got one of the wear on earth jackets, they’re bloody good but more of a work or causal jacket for me. My hunting puffer I got earlier this year was a montbell one, really warm and weighs under 400grams and is 800 loft, can get it inside my silk sleeping bag liner stuff sack. Cost about $250 delivered which is pretty good value in my opinion
