Folks, I've got a DBS V3 w/3SD Cree XR-E module. Can it's performance be improved with this 'de doming' you're talking about ?
I've had for a few years now and not up with the 'Techie Torch Stuff', so wondering if the module has been improved ?
    Cheers, Red

Well I actually had a range of them ordered gadgetman, but fasttech never delivered them so I'll have to order more.

Im sure you will find a use for them though

I'm looking at a couple of these for the quad

10W 950lm Cree XML-T6 White LED 30 Degrees Spot Beam Round Work Light (10~30V) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

10W Cree XM-L LED 30 Degrees Spot Beam Work Light Square Offroad / Daytime Running Lamp (10~30V) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

There are heaps of others. Other that that you could adapt a torch easily enough.
GM, I've put a couple of these on my quad and they are bloody good. . . .

I must admit to being tempted with HID.

Hey guys, I have been reading rough everything I can find on the maxtoch sn6x-2s, I now have one and would like to get it running better, so I would like to de dome it and anything else I can do to get more grunt out of it. I'm already running good 3100 panasonics.
I'm not terribly slick with small electronics and don't want to risk wrecking anything, how hamfisted would I need to be to wreck anything if I was to have a go at dedoming?
As long as you don't ask my mrs, I'm not a complete retard.

    Cheers for any help

    Rob

Sneeze just dedomed my 2 torches for me and I have to say I am surprised how much better they are. My old maxtoch is now as grunty as my 2s. It may be an easy process but it helps to know what you are doing in the first place.
    I dont.

Thanks for the offer of sorting it for me Chris but I had them when we were up the sounds and sneeze sorted them for me.
Happy to send you my x-search in a few weeks for a makeover tho?

If you take your time and be careful you should be alright. Few dudes on here who are good bastards and might be willing to sort you out. Beer tokens are always great currency.

They are easy to do but you do need to be quite careful as the connecting wires are soft gold and very small.

Your not wrong. There was a lot of swearing, banging and crashing but he got the job done I am well pleased. The difference from domed to not domed is rather obvious.
