    Maxtoch H01R VS Nitecore HC65

    Maxtoch H01R or Nitcore HC65 ?

Just seeing what you guys think on these two head lights, all my Ledlensers keep dying or playing up now days (loved my old H7) so thought I should up grade to one of these buggers ?

What is the general consensus ?

I have a maxtoch H01R certainly can't fault it, shits all over my old ledlenser for battery life and brightness, it also runs the same batteries as my x2 shooters so for me that is a consideration, sorry don't know anything about the nightcore.

Either or mate, both damn good. I have the hc60 and very happy with it.

I don't think Maxtoch make HO1R amy more - haven't for a year or so. It was a very good, very durable wee headlamp - I think there was just one repair over product's 5 year life span. If you can find one grab it.. .otherwise look at Black Diamond, Petzl, Nitecore.

For anyone who has HO1Rs I have some replacement headstraps you can have free. Just PM me and will send..

As previously mentioned, if you can get your hands on a Maxtoch H01 or H01R, snap it up. I have both generations of this headlamp, and they are still working very well after a lot of years of abuse.
Same cannot be said for any of the other brands I tried.

I have the H01R. It's good. Can't say I've stretched the battery. Brightness is good, if not overwhelming. It's a small package, so you can't expect too much. I've also had good experiences with Nitecore torches, but not the model mentioned. No doubt, the HC65 is good too.

I'd drop the Maxtoch's in an instant if that was a real stat, and not clever marketing.

Its max runtime at 1 lumen which is the minimum setting of the Nitecore
The Maxtoch minimum setting is 5 lumens hence the difference

My only dislike of my Maxtoch is that the light colour is too white and bounces back, specially when any dust etc in the air

the hc65 is good, one thing i dont like about it is you have to unscrew and remove the end cap to be able to plug it in and charge it. not sure if this is the same with the other one, but i'm guessing its only a matter of time before it gets lost and the IP rating goes with it.

I vote for a zebra light. Simple robust and very bright. Long lasting too with nitecore 3500mAh. NL1835.
