Thread: Msr hubba hubba

Just browsing online and realised there is quite a difference inbetween price between buying these locally or overseas. Has anyone brought one from overseas ? Is it too much hassle and not worth it too save 250$?

Bought a MSR Nook from overseas. Landed it here for less than half what I could buy it in NZ. I thought it was worth it. Spent the $400 I saved on other stuff.

Once you factor in GST and customers clearance (plus shipping) your probably spending more than If you buy local

At this price even if i get stung by customs it's still substantially cheaper than local , would have to use youshop

A friend has bought off them before with no issues.

I bought a MSR Hubba NX solo 1 for NZD378 posted to an address in the States, then had someone bring it out here. I got it from REI.

They are NZD712 at Gear Shop.

If I had had it posted the extra charge would have been USD30.

A lot of retailers in the States won't send MSR gear to NZ. Its like with Nightforce 'scopes.

In all honesty this is a lot better than mine mate.
I’m considering buying one soon.

I got one from Ski shop I think and it worked out about half price compared to here. Took two or so weeks and no problems. Didn't pay gst or anything but that was about 18 months ago things might have changed since then.
