    MY boots squeak !

I have the very annoying ( now ) problem Of one boot ( left ) squeaking .
    I have....
Washed / dried and cleaned them .
    Put dubbin on them
    changed the insoles
    Shock talc into them
    Sprayed silicon into them
pryed the sole where its possible and jammed contact glue in there and clamped the boot in the press

    Nothing seems to work .
    So, heres the questions
why do boots even squeak in the first place , and when they do, what are the reasons ?
the boots have had only 3 roars and weren,t cheap . Keen brand "Keen dry " water proof
    cheers
    les

I have had it happen when the leather of the outer rubs against the leather of the tongue where it is folded under.(I have a pair of Lowas that still do it). I figured this out by putting some leaves in between the tongue and outer which stopped it. Not a practical solution but if that is what is squeaking then a bit of sand paper on the surfaces to roughen the leather fixes it.

I have a pair of Alpina boots that did the same when New. Give a good wax, oil or whatever you use on tops of the tongue and inside of the top of boot where it laces up over the tongue. Problem solved

Thanks. I tried a few different waxes/oils but found it was only a temporary fix. Doesn't bother me too much with the Lowas as I don't wear them hunting.

I have a pair of gronells the left one has squeaked since day one. They are 5 years old now and used almost every day during the time it still squeaks. You get use to it.

have you tried feeding it a bit of cheese
I have 1 of my work boots do that for a while then for some reason it just stopped.
Is it ya foot squeaking inside it, or the leather rubbing on something.

I had this on the best pair of boots I've ever owned. Made them useless for hunting, I was gutted. Dubbin on the sides of the tongue (the boots, not the one in your face fixed it). I see you tried dubbin already, try more.
