Much cheaper but as tikka says it is on the heavy side. Guess thats the payoff for it seeming a bit sturdier and better for colder weather

Yes it weighs more than other one person options but its hardly noticeable. Doesn't cost the earth either.

If your willing to spend the money the kuiu 2 man tent is really good. Light and with the 2 vestibules has lots of room for gear/dog and the external pole system makes it robust and quick to setup.

You will always regret buying a 1 man tent.

Thats what I do some trips with my Olympus fly when I know it's going to be too windy for my Huntech Fly. Got a couple of options for tent setups.

ive gone this road of researching what to go for, definitly dont go for 1 person, also remember breathability is important, some of msr tent go to one pole at one end, not so good and aparently the carbon poles break, i found a new msr 2 person on tm for $600 with all the trimmings and has good vestibule sizes on both sizes and can be pitched with just outer and poles if your really trying to shead weight, in saying that i havent put it to good use yet..

I got a mono v2 couple of weeks ago (not sure if its what u already have) used it for a few days on the tops much better than a fly can fit your pac & probably squeeze the dog in, nice low profile only thing I don't like is all the mozzy mesh but for $2hundy pretty happy with it.
