    Osprey Aether Pro 70

    Hey guys
Has anyone used one of these packs before? Am downsizing from a huge expedition 80-130 that was just way more then I need for what I do. These look to be a good weight (<2kg), while having a good harness and seems fairly good space.

My hunts mostly are just overnight, with occasional multi-day tramps etc.
Especially interested in experiences of this vs the aether AG.
    Cheers,
    Joel

I've got the 65L for tramping and it's great but it does have an annoying squeek that I can't find.

I have one and rate it well overall, Mine was a bit squeaky at first, and the waist belt needed a few trips before it fitted me snugly. The mesh pockets are a bit flimsy.

Not a Pro however I have Aether AG 85. it's great. Sure can't beat the Osprey warranty! I received a brand new pack to replace a very used and abused one that was around 10yrs and got torn in bush.
I currently need to get my Aether fixed after a mouse decided to chew its way into hip pouch for the leftover museli bar :-(

    Ditto.

Sold the Tatonka to buy an Aether. No regrets at all!

Too many pockets for me, I still use my ancient Macpac Pursuit for overnights

I brought one two weeks ago for my so - it was the new model AETHER™ PRO 75

Going over it and trialling it on I was very impressed. Not sure about the 2 many pockets as it definitely isn’t like that.
The only thing I was hesitant on was the side strapping as it is one long strap that zigzags from top to bottom. I much prefer a top and a bottom strap for attaching a rifle anyway
Comparing it to packs I have had I don’t think you would be disappointed
I am sticking with my One Planet Extrovert for now as it does everything I want and 55l capacity for 1.3kg is great

Oops should be son. He is currently coming down off the Eyre Mountain tops and this is probably his 8th hunt with it. He was using an Exped Lightning 60 pack previously.
In his words it is an awesome pack, very comfortable and seems to be happy with the way the rifle attaches on the side. It also handles weight very well
Not so impressed with hip belt pockets - they are a good size but the waterproof zip is almost impossible to open when pack is on your back.

I have an Aether 60, really comfortable harness even loaded up with a few big venison legs.
But the pack construction doesn't seem to handle the weight, I've got a few pulled stitches and the stretchy pockets have torn on branches such.

I have the Pro 70 and yes, the side pockets are very roomy, but hard to unzip. Apart from that, excellent. You can also remove the top and side pockets and use it in a reduced size. The fabric seems very strong. No mesh on this pack. Got mine half price from Bivouac as there is a new model out now. The pro 75.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Silicone spray on all buckles normally stops the squeaks
