    Outer shell needed

Have changed from my ridgeline torrent heavy hunting coat to using a down vest with a light weight outer shell. Few reasons but that's not what this is about...

My new wear on earth down vest showed up yesterday and there's one major thing wrong.... It goes down over my arse and half way down my legs, can still walk around fine so I like it. The problem I can forsee is when it rains and I put my outer shell on it only comes down to my waist.

So anyone got advice on a long outer shell? Have a ground effects and a thematech designed for cycling that leave about an inch of down at the back but 3+ at the front.

Ridgeline deluge is cheap if you can find one, I wear a merino wool layer underneath as I do sweat in it and find it a good system, I have a macpac resolution but dont like pushing through gorse and blackberry in it.

Wear a swannie and an oilskin for a couple of weeks and it will feel light.
