    Pants for skinny legs

    For just over 60 years my skinny legs have propelled me up hills just as fast as the next bloke . . . But Ive always been a bit vain and although Ive tried, the longjohns and shorts just dont do it for me. I also dislike wearing over tousers even in bad weather (Sth Is high country bad weather).

    So - what synthetic long trousers work the best when its cold and wet, and probably windy. They need to be light too, even when wet, and dry quick.

    I've always been a longjohns and shorts guy, but the last couple of winters I've been wearing the Huntech Roar long pants and like them.

    Way more sustainable than making your pants out of oil then planting a pine-tree to offset you pants.
    I used to wear old suit pants but Im after someting to wear working too (fencing, sometimes) and wool isnt tough enough when its thin enough wear in all weathers.

    Have a gander at Earth sea sky, taslan and katipos are awesome, pricey but extremely light and strong, they feel like they will fall to bits because of the weight but man they are tough

    Agree with the EarthSeaSky recommendation. Very light, tough, very fast drying. Probably giving a little away in the warmth department, but can work around that with a pair of longjohns under if you’re feeling the cold.

    Hey those ones are pretty much right on the mark!

    I should have added that I'm a cheap bastard and the cost of those ESK ones just about made me pass out!

    I feel the same with price but I would have spent way more over the years on fleece type pants that I sweat like a motherfu$&er in and fall apart on the seams and pockets with minimal wear. Each to their own but the ESS jobbies I’m running are performing above expectations with no sign of giving up after a couple of years moderate use in the nth island bush and tops

    I have a pair but haven't worn them much. Pleased with them but very much a winter pant having a fleecy inner. Slim fit though.
    @Happy Jack has some too.

    You just need to get stuck into the pies mate. That'l stop the 'skinny leg' look in fleece of whatever brand you choose
