    Wife was looking at this one for me for fathers day.

    I have that one, Got it for $310 about 3 years ago, 10y battery life, comes with a case and a small mirror.
    Its small enough to fit in a small pocket of my bumbag. Thumbs up from me.

    @veitnamcam I actually double checked, I paid $330 4 years ago so the price hasnt moved much, I got it from the below which is NZ coded.

    Yep I got one too a couple of years ago. It's the only 1 with a 10 year battery life as far as I know. Was great service and arrived on my dorrstep 3 days after buying. NZ coded as well.

    Yep they do work. I lost the first one in the kaimanawa and couple of years later got a phone call from rescue centre. It had gone off and while registered as lost they hadn't noted the location. After probably water getting in after 2 years it shorted out and went off. All good I know they work. Make sure that you register it.

    Wasn't there a thread on here somewhere that noted comments from helicopter rescue crews, that the KTI had the highest rate of self activation, causing a lot of false call outs?

    Well its on its way apparently.
    Will keep an eye on the inadvertent activation but haven't had a problem with the one I have been sharing with Dad.

    Seems like most of the activations were either people chucking them around and so damaging it, throwing it away, and turning it on while fiddling around with it. Treat it like the electronics it is and it should be fine I would say.
