    Sorry I should have said not true in my experience. I guess it depends on what you fired. I can imagine an AR15 with no shell deflector might be a problem.

    Thank you @gundoc I was advised to always ask for their number if ever dealing with police when I was but a pup and that advice is even more pertinent today.

    Not all that odd! I'm the same. I am right handed and used to pistol shoot with my right. However, I have a left "master eye", ie vision in my left eye is clearer and better that the right, so I shoot my rifles from the left shoulder. Inconvenient really because left handed bolt action rifles are harder to come by. When on the range butts, it used to drive my Sgt Major mad with my legs crossed over the soldier to my right! In the end I was simply told to get to the right hand end of the line.
