    Recommended waterproofing products

    Hey team.

I recently went for an armed walk that got rather moist. I was not pleased to find that 1. My pack cover was not so waterproof, and 2. My jacket did a pretty good job of keeping the water out, but the surface became waterlogged very quickly.

There are a shit ton of different hydrophobic products out there, just wondering what people have found work well.

I saw the thread about mixing silicone and thinners on products, but I would be concerned about how that would affect the breathability of my jacket particularly.

    Cheers

What is your jacket made from?

I use Gear Aid Revivex on my cactus mountain jacket and softshell jacket.

I'm also watching this one..... have a older jacket and a pack I'd love to give a little more waterproofing too.
Anyone tried the CRC Aqua Armour ?

Good time to do this now when you can leave gear out in the hot sun.

Rub a candle across the surface, then a trip through tumble drier until it's soaked in and no longer white. Cotton needs the most, polyester/nylon less. Will change the tone of the fabric.

Geko guard from wear on earth.
It's a solvent based one where as alm the wash in one's are obviously water based and don't last long.
