It is about the same. LPG is generally a 60:40 Propane/Butane mix. The premium camping gas canisters are generally a 75:25 Propane/Butane mix.

In short, I don't notice the difference.

    Different mix of what @hillclima?

It all comes off one boat out of one tank.
You could just get one made at a good welding supply shop. I've got a few made for doing argon etc.

Propane/Butane mix, you see different quantities based on alpine use etc. so wasn't sure if normal LPG was different, Shooter answered it above and seems like it's not an issue

As far as flipping the cylinder over, we used to have that issue on the boats when we weren't doing a lot of cooking. Would spark up the burner and still be waiting for the kettle to boil 40mins later - not ideal. An old hand came out one day, and was like the young pups know nothing - gave the cylinder a shake and wohoo, boiling in 4 minutes... He reckoned that the gas fractions separated out when the bottle sits for a long period of time or gets rocked gently like on a boat, and the stuff that goes to the top or bottom or whatever isn't the lot that burns hot it's the cheap 'filler gas'. Don't know about the accuracy of the theory but shaking the bottle prior to use did work!
I flip mine when filling... The idea from what I understand is to have more of the 'liquid' rather than 'gas' enter the disposable canister, well makes sense to me. Don't want to over pressurize the canister by pumping it full of 'gas'.
