    Sand Bags

A question for all sharp shooters & not so sharp. What is the go-to brand of sand bag that doesn't leak? All replies much appreciated.

I got a 'door stop' from Bunnings for my rear rest.
The front is a branded one (Lyman) but anything should work.
I filled one with plastic pellets that I scored from a rope manufacturer. (any plastic manufacturer should have something like that)

Fill with crystallised kitty litter. Less likely to leak than sand and won't attract rodents like dried foodstuffs. Downside, not as heavy, but heavy enough.

    Have got ali express
Ones they now leak sand all over my truck. Lasted about 1 year. Will look at the sabre tactical ones next although not cheap. Might check Bunnings ones you speak off out first.

If you find them leaking you can always line them with a ziplock bag (don't use a normal plastic bag [if you can find one these days] as they are too noisy)

Some brands use plastic beads. I saw a set in a shop that were front and rear about $90, expensive O guess but light enough to be easily managed.
I've tried different gear, more than I could really afford but trying to find quick, convenient rest for low level club shooting or practice.
Some guys use a bipod and rear squeeze bag.
I bought an Ulfhednar squeeze bag it's neoprene with plastic beads because it's from a cold country manufacturer. Gonna have to stitch the zip pull anyway it's easily opened

I think there is a Bistolli canvas bag with plastic beans for same purpose. Cheaper.

I did find it hard to source plastic beads given the volumee I would want. I think Airsoft ones on EBAY would work but I need heaps.

Easy to make: River sand (let it dry first) in double A4 courier bags taped up (tape the seams well). Leave the bags pretty loose, need to be able to shape the bag if you pack it too tight it'll just be a solid brick. Put the bags in a pillowcase, seal the top with a zip tie.

I would recommend the Caldwell bags but I can say that the best way to avoid sand leaking out is to avoid putting sand in

xhunteronline.co.nz is showing them in stock at $83.60
