I saw some of these cheaper damascas knives when I was there but I assumed they were the BS laser engraved pattern. Looks like I missed out then

bacho....... the plastic sheath makes it ideal for the pack or bumbag and they are surprisingly good to use, dead easy to keep sharp to.

I’m curious what you paid from the factory? I have a strong intention to make it to Japan at some point in the next few years, and will hopefully bring some knives back with me

400nz, the ashis were 200nz which is awesome value as well, crazy good performing knives for the price. Absolute lasers.

Japan's an epic spot man, well worth the trip

Ooo that is well priced! I need to change up what I have I think. I bought a small 135mm petty but the heel of the blade is too thick. It feels too cumbersome as a result. Compare the photo the left is my Guyto that is just cuts beautifully. The right is the 135 petty. Name: IMG_3967.jpeg

It’s from here. It’s the Dentogi Ami petty, out of stock now. Think the original maker is Tadafusa

Knives of Alaska muskrat, picked it up after caping out (and poking a couple holes in) a mountain goat. Haven't gotten to try it out yet, but it seems promising
