@Shearer yeah some cool bit in there. Always used to collect them out of the firewood bin. Wish I had started years earlier. If anyone wants better photos let me know.

i would be keen on some .not sure where you are if in the south island we could organize a knife build.
cheers john
I would also be interested in some of that wood if you are anywhere near Auckland, and I could help you with a knife build, my set up would be a little cramped with two people but I’m sure we could manage.
Small antler handle knife was made by a chap in Levin (Manakau) - it is my main hunting knife now as it usually sits in bum bag. Hard to sharpen if let go too long.
The Svord was purchased new in 1983 - probably one of the earlier knives by him (can't remember his name) Had an a lot of use doing home kill cattle in its 1st couple of years - we got $20 + hide (45-90$ at that time) Great knife and holds a keen edge

Very nice
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
What is the handle on the right one? Looks fantastic.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Had this beauty made for me by @Shelley from a piece of antler I picked up in Fiordland.
Gave it a good workout yesterday breaking down the three Red yearlings I shot.
