More a small boning knife for the likes of goats. I have found the best knife for fowl is the Buck folding fillet knife. Its just the right length blade for breasting.

That is a perfect blade shape Ryan. Don't know why all hunting knives don't have a blade like that.

Bark River arrived today. First decent knife I’ve owned. It’s sharp but could be better...normal to get a new knife that needs sharpening? If so, is it recommended to get someone who has dealt with CPM 3V before to sharpen or can any local sharpener do it? Plan is to learn to do myself but at this stage have no experience with sharpening.

Something doesnt look right with that edge, perhaps its just the light but it looks quite rough.
Is this new or second hand?

Would never leave BRK in this condition.

Yeah new from DLT. Think it may just be the light in the photo...but would one expect it to be super sharp from factory?

I would contact DLT about that or Mike Stewart directly.
Even if its the light those micro scratches shouldn't be there.

You don’t want to let any clown on that blade. 3V is a great steel but I find it tough to sharpen as it’s quite hard. That blade is convex grind so will want to be stropped for maintenance and for anything further get some water stones or similar fine grit stone. I have a Spyderco stone which is good. @Tahr is the right man to ask. I think he has shares in BRK now.
