A friend bought one an 1800 bdx, along with the scope that it talks to the rangefinder gives readings to 1800 metres but the scope stops at 800.
800s plenty for hunting with a 300 win mag dont want to have too much unnecessary walking, the illuminated post is pretty thick and obscures a lot of the target at that range even at max magnification.
You can always dial for better accuracy and distance as a phone with a ballistic app is needed as well.
I’m not looking at the scope purely want the range finder for ranging targets. I want to dial myself with dope cards anyway
Ask if you can give it a go outside the shop, I have a 2000m kilo model but it only ranges to 1000m max. I've been meaning to get onto them about it.
Very good point, I was very suprised when we got a bounce at 1800 m but it did take several attempts, there was no problem out to 1500 m though.
Honest answer, No.
Go for one with the OLED display not the LCD.
Just 2 cents from the brand ambassador in NZ!

Whoops we sorta just beought one it says on the it ranges to 750 on deer apparently so should be alright
The BDX uses the applied ballistics lite software because it’s designed for hunters and Sig wanted to keep it ethical. So 600m or 800 yds was the range they though was best. There is no “civvie” or restricted version.
That said if you connect a Kilo 2400 BDX or Kilo 3000 BDX bino to a kestrel 5700 on Bluetooth external mode then you will get a solution in the scope as far as you can range a target, which is farther I’d wager than your scope is capable of indicating or your rifle is capable of hitting unless you have a 375 CT.
