How well would the quilts work for side-sleepers?

Ordered one of these the other day.
Mont Bell 800 Down Hugger #3 long.
Compared against the One Planet and Kuiu and it ticked all the boxes for me.

+1 for mont bell, mines a super spiral UL 2 i think, or whatever but its rated to -5. 900gm, with compression bag you might be down to two softballs

They work sweet. I have no issue with mine and I roll around heaps. You can also attach them under yourself If you get worried about drafts ect. If you were really worried You could just get a wide.
They are pretty cost effective also when comparing to quality bags with similar loft/temp ratings.

what model quilt you using?

and what temps/ conditions (ie under a fly etc) have you used them in?

I have a hammock gear burrow 20. Have had it down to about 0 under a tarp but in a borah gear bivy. was comfy and im a cold sleeper. Very nicely made and you can pick colours and down levels. My only issue with it was when it was new the down was a bit clumped and took a bit of working round to sit properly in the baffles. This is apparently just what happens with dridown.

I have a katabatic gear alsek or something. It's Ok but I wouldn't buy another quilt style bag. Should have got the Mont bell.

I have a Macpac Express 600. I like it, it compresses to football size and weighs under 1kg. It's so good I sleep on top of it most of the night in the Kaimais.

so what are these quilts that your talking about are they like a blanket or something ? anyone have a pic or link , im currently looking at torpedo7 cocoon 700 1.3 kg 4.6 litres packed and on special at the mo $350

Hot feet in summer and a cold top in winter.... At below zero its impossible to move about in the night without getting cold air inside. Good idea in theory but I will be getting a side zipped bag when this one is buggered. Plus the whole thing about having to put strings around your sleeping mat is a terrible idea and a complete pain in the ass.

Interesting, I havent had to many problems with drafts. Maybe yours is a bit narrow. Granted you are sleeping in colder conditions than I am.

Ive never bothered with the string thing just snap the neck closure and good to go.

I think the biggest pro cam, is the weight and size. Mine is 600 grams and warm enough to get me to zero. Its gunna be a trade off. I get a good sleep in mine. But im not up in the Alps either. They are pretty popular with UL hikers, some love them some don't. In my experience at 0 and above they are wicked. I find them pretty comfortable as well as being light.
