This thread cost me $40 on my way home for work (Warehouse/Alpsocks/Nato). Want to see what I've been missing out on. I'll add it to the thousands this forum has cost me over the years.

we bought big bag of 2nds when the factory shut down in washdyke...allsorts of weird shapes and lengths but they all look like a towel when inside out...pretty much your std work sock
now to the hot feet thing...it MAY BE foot scauld...a sort of gout type thing...I suffered for years with it and its what put me off leather boots... if Im good and take my goutease tablets and keep up the vitamins dont have issues anymore....

Icebreaker. NZ made and if you wear them out just take them back and get them replaced

Nah Just take them back and they get swapped out. My wife uses them for ultra running, probably swapped out one pair 3 or 4 times.

Most of icebreaker is made in Asia from what I'm told. Interesting if they're now made in US. Do you have a source?

Comfort socks – merino - soft and hard wearing
I have been using these for about seven years and wear them for all my trapping work – they get about 10 hours walking each week
Bivouac list them – I will get another pair next week

Swazi merino hunting socks. And thin set of cotton or bamboo underneath.
