I would also be keen to learn a little more about the frame and how it works. This looks like a really good pack. cheers.

Can't speak highly enough of my Southern Lite pack. Fits my back, hips like a glove. Great pack up to a few nights away. 65L from memory when extended.

The hip belt pockets just fit a Garmin 66i.

Great guy to deal with, obviously a whiz with a sewing machine as everything is meticulously done.

Yes. Good. They are not seam sealed and can leak (not many packs are seamed sealed). The maker said to me to use dry bags. But I stuck my head inside the pack and seam sealed the stitching with some goo in a tube. Seems to have worked.
    Otherwise cant fault them.

Very similar layout to an Aarn pack.

Far more resilient and rugged than the Lightning. Ive had a Lightning. Great packs but don't last.

I have only used mine a couple of times so far.
I love it but yes they need seam sealing if out in the wet.

What’s the approximate cost for one of these?i wonder if he can do one of the shoulder straps with removable padding ,I bush hunt and need to be able to shoulder rifle and shoot ,have trouble doing that with my main pack, then want to put padding in once carrying a heavy load.

Mmmmm I like the idea of it. I’ve carried three boned out rear ends plus 6 back straps in my Tatonka along with me gear. If yis are still singing their praises in another year I might get one

The good thing about them is that they are simple. You don't have to read a manual to operate them. There aren't belts and buckles all over the shop.

They are well made and strong, but light. One big roomy single bag that pulls down tight if there's not much in it. I use mine for day hunts.

Mines 60 litres I think and I can carry it comfortably chocker with meat. Plenty of times 2 boned out deer. Good lumbar support and padded straps. The internal frame keeps the load stable and it sits very well on my back. I wash mine out with a hose but I should use a big dry bag or something for the meat to keep it clean. Too good (and expensive) to abuse really.

The only negative I can think of is it can be a bit of a pain getting in and out of the roll top lid for stuff like a camera or snacks. Just a minor thing really.

Here's mine when it was new.

A year later an this all still applies. Still cant fault it except for the velcro tabs on the closure which are noisy - but I think that he has stopped putting them on anyway. Can carry a damned good load reasonably comfortably. Fits me great and sits really well. Simple and uncluttered. Stitching is perfect. No loose thread ends. Smells a bit but they are very easy to stick a hose in to wash out. The fabric is perfect for that. Highly recommended.
