    Stoney Creek Nitz

I’ve got the jacket and so far I’m pleased with its performance. It’s light, covers my butt and appears to be waterproof. The two way stretch is a great feature.
Their advertising material that suggests it’s got some fancy new baked in DWR that will never wear off is absolute bullocks, it ‘wets out’ just like any other jacket.
I went to a shop yesterday to buy the pants, they didn’t have any, they’d sent all thier Nitz products back to Stoney Creek.
What’s others experience with this range? I’d like some pants as I like ‘sets’, but I’m not going to invest the $$$ if the gear is shit; I’ll just get another light weight Kuiu set, trouble is, even when discounted it’s very expensive.

Super interested in your experience with Stoney Creek Nitz.

    Thanks.

I got sick of hunting branded stuff falling to bits and leaking, got the vent x overtrousers from earth sea sky couple years ago never looked back. Pack down nice and small and have full length zips so easy to get on and off with boots on

You’re 100% right there, it appears as if the best rain gear comes from the traditional tramping/climbing brands. I have a Macpac coat that performs better than anything else I own and I just picked up a pair of Patagonia lightweight over trousers that appear to be quite good.
