Got a pair of the stoney creek shorts on clearance at Hunting and Fishing for $30 and theyre pretty bloody good. Might replace the drawstring but cant fault them otherwise.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who got to the point of giving up on CCC stubbies. Got sick of the bloody crotch ripping and every year I speak to the people in the shop they've 'never heard of that problem before'. Just got a couple pairs of Swazi ones, not cheap but so far so good!
The Swazi ones are my favourite style/cut but since they went from cotton to a man made material I can't wear them as they disintegrate under a shower of grinder sparks
Swazi looks like they have a good pair, pretty pricey though.
Running the huntech ones, seem ok to me, comfy enough and cheap at 35 skcub
I get thos stubbing from Postie Plus, same cut as the CCC but last longer and have pockets, cheaper 2.
"ars longa, vita brevis"
I run huntech rugby shorts. Roomy, good pockets, elastic gooch which I am yet to rip. Even straddling frames and trusses. Not too warm in the sun either. Have 4 pairs and would readily buy more.
Running the Huntech. ......keeps my 'button mushroom' in check. .......eh, I only hunt in winter
While I might not be as good as I once was, Im as good once as I ever was!
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Got some of their dry bum ones - too warm for summer (sweaty sack and crack warning), tad tight in the leg for me and the waterproof panel in the bum makes a bit of a rustly sound when I walk. So not great really, but might be ok in winter. Mostly I wear Macpac 'rockover' shorts - light, comfy, bit of stretch to them, quick drying, good enough pockets.
I have a few pairs of the Huntech shorts and they last pretty well, and they are only forty bucks.
