Yeah, for tops trips I've gone to the Hunters Element Eclipse Hoody. Lightweight, full sleeve, synthetic that is relatively breatheable. Many hunting and mountaineering brands so these now, Simms do a really lightweight version. Sun protection is great. Does stink after a few trips, so need to wash and air out. Am tempted to go for the same type of fabric for long trousers for sun protection. For the bush, looking forward to rocking the black singlet and stubbies.

I wear this top on days out in the open: https://www.hunterselement.co.nz/col...vantage-hoodie

Wait for a sale though you should be able to get it around 40% off.
It's warmer than just a standard light long sleeve but the extra sun protection is worth it.
I've got one of these for hunting and another Desolve one that is the same but different colours for out in the kayak. Would get another one when these are worn out.

Macpac and Kathmandu both do lightweight, long sleeve hoodies in breathble, UV proof fabrics. Both $70ish on special at the mo, so not much cheaper than the camo tax versions.

My kids have them for summer fishing missions and they seem to work well. Might have to get one for hunting.

Huntech VentX 40 $ at the moment my favorite hunting pants have 3 pairs last for years and years . When it’s hot it is stinking hot and the VentX pant is the most breathable pant available in the range. VentX’s unique construction and weave offers the strongest vented fabric available whilst still offering extreme heat regulation and moisture management properties. Designed to be worn over the top of a pair of shorts or just as they are next to your skin. Has a through pocket on one side for easy access into your base layer pocket. Cool and comfortable to hunt in but strong enough to offer leg protection when pushing through scrub. Wearing our VentX range in High Country Habitat over the top of gear instantly turns your under garments into a breathable camouflage system.

Blackfoot Designs ( aussie ) has a range of lightweight pants & shirts. They are made from a linen/cotton blend. The quality is the best you will ever get...they are hand made by the owner..with the very best components. No matter how many holes you have in a synthetic cloth it's still a plastic wrap over your body. Plastic doesn't breathe so it will promote sweating. Until you have worn linen..cotton/linen in the heat you have no idea just how comfortable it can be. It wears very well also...linen is tough. How do I know all this...I grew up in aussie, hunted my whole life & tried every sort of clothing on the market. In 2000 I started Blackfoot Designs...I wanted to give AUSSIE hunters a true warm weather hunting clothing & accessory line. I was tired of things falling apart & the design/features came from someone who had never stepped foot in the bush in his/her life. I trialed all the super moisture wicking...mesh synthetics from around the world ...in the field...not in a lab ... & good old natural fibres left them all for dead in the comfort field. I ran Blackfoot for 20 years & had a wonderful time with like minded folks as my customers. Is it for New Zealand...mostly NO... it was designed for Aussie... but for those hot summer hunts here..yes...it would work well. I designed the camouflage way back in the beginning & while it is very non-traditional it works amazingly well... back in the day many of the top bow hunters were all wearing it. James my nephew now runs the show... I retired & moved to the luckiest country on earth. Thanks Fellas Dave
