ANyone got the time to make a comprehensive list of ALL the cunts (businesses/organisations) who threw us under the bus?
I will spread that list like butter and push it harder than a drug dealer.
It needs to be consistently published and refreshed for years to exact a pittence of revenge on these mother fuckers.
If people like HnF and this Swazi idiot, Deerstalkers etc had used logic and held their tongue or supported us we might have stood at least a fair chance of being heard.
As it was, we all know how it went down.
I will never forget this shit.
Use enough gun
One thing I've never understood since moving to NZ.
How and hell does F&G have it so much more together than anybody else and why so much government support? Why are a pest fish and a bloody duck of all things so much holier than everything else released here as a game animal. The mind boggles.
"O Great Guru what projectile should I use in my .308?" To which the guru replied, "It doesn't matter."

Fish and Game are set-up by the Government under one of the bits of Conservation legislation. They use to be called Acclimatisation Societies. Deer and possums use to be under their control and you needed a licence to hunt/trap them. Then their numbers got out of control and their legal status changed from game animals to noxious animals.
@308 I haven't been able to afford his stuff although I may have a swazi jacket I bought 2nd hand off a mate many years ago.
Wouldn't now if I could help it.
He just needed to keep his fat trap shut. He could've said it was a tragedy and things need to be looked at etc but no. Had to big note himself and throw everyone under the bus. Even semi 22s weren't so flash. Lucky he didn't shit on shotguns. By his reasoning unless we were using single shot 303's and 22's we just aren't doing it right.
Fair enough-people are allowed their opinion but that was just bollocks.
And as for being scared about people with semis, that's pretty crap too. There are dodgy people out there with bolt action-he is stereotyping them.
I have had experience with a person on a Stewart island trip in the early 90's. I had a 243 woods master semi auto. I was told he didn't like them and wouldn't hunt with me. I thought that was a bit rough as I hunted with semi shotguns and didn't see the difference. They are either loaded or they aint but treat them as such.
Also if hunting in a pair the first guy is the only one with ammo anywhere near the chamber. Guy following is just there for the ride so what does having a semi auto matter?
You either trust me to have it unloaded or you don't. Brought up around the bolt action ethos and that was it. We still got on alright but I still thought it was naïve.
By his reasoning unless we were using single shot 303's and 22's we just aren't doing it right.
yea or maybe a spear?
Gonne = ye olde english word for any contraption of war.
Arm = weapon
man with gun = armed, weaponed up.
It's just english.
In some countries a firearms license is called a weapons license, but we are very sensitive about that, I get that.
If ever a snidy cop refers to your "weapons", ask him if your firearms license is a weapons license. Watch his face and see the cogs go round and round and get nowhere.
An itch ... is ... a desire to scratch
To be fair to him, there were plenty of people saying the same about there being "no need for semis" and IMO people with those opinions didn't think of the future. It was pretty obvious to anyone with a brain cell that this divide and conquer approach to fracture the hunting groups would be the start of something else, but no one listened. Let's hope us naysayers were wrong we don't get shafted any more than we have already been but i'm not holding my breath...
To answer the original question - yup, i won't be using them or H&F again, plenty of other choices.
.e.
Yeah, he's over-stepped the boundary there. He's the owner of a clothing company not a nominated voice of the people. All of us are to blame for that don't forget. We can't get our shit together. The "rabbid dog" like posts about setting out to sink him are uhmmm worrying to say the least...Great image for us on a public forum.
I thought I would buy Swazi gear again after this virus thing, support NZ made and all. That article makes me think hard about doing that. Maybe it's better to support a company like First Lite who're associated with the Meat Eater show which has a positive influence on the general public for all hunters. Something for me to think about.
