@Nibblet. I've been waiting for months for the mountain star to come back in stock. Any idea on an ETA? Tempted to just order a storm star.. but 1KG heavier

    No idea sorry.

I'm not actually associated with Kuiu, I just have some of their gear.

@Nibblet. Did you buy the footprint? Is it necessary?

I haven't got it but it's probably a good idea.

The base is pretty thin, obviously to keep weight down, so you have to be pretty vigilant to clear the ground where you're setting up of anything sharp.
Same could probably be said for most light weight tents? Same as any gear you want to last, take care of it and it should take care of you. (Not really a mantra I live by though )

am tempted to sell a kidney and buy a Hilleberg Niak instead. Best warranty and record of reliability as a company but charges like a wounded bull.

The Kuiu Mountain Star tents are back in stock, I just ordered one with carbon poles. Should do the job. Heading in for a Tahr trip in summer for 9 days, will be a good test

Stumbled on this guy doing some reviews, he shows some good alternatives here and a tent that might be worth looking at

Went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.
