Thread: Tents

So, there's been a few posts about tents in use and what to recommend of late, and I have an interest in this too, wanting to get back to the hills and upgrade my gear.
I think a sticky with peoples info would be useful?
People have mentioned various models/brands but often when checking them out on the web, there isn't a great amount of info for using in our setting I think.
Specifically, setting up in wet/raining, windy, weather.
Many models say they can be erected with the tent and fly clipped together but I haven't seen any that show how thats done regarding settting up. Sure they're clipped together but how do you get the poles in??
There are very few with external poles which make it a bit more obvious but even then they don't explain how what clips to what in which sequence.
So.
I'm wondering if the next time you have yours up (keep it clean you lot), take a couple of pics and attach with model, size (1P/2P) and brief rundown on how it assembles for raining days and if stocked/sold in NZ or shipped in.
My tent is a Moss Stardome, bought new 1988 when about to leave Canada and last used in '93. Bomb proof 4 season, 2P internal poles that need to be first threaded and set on the tent before you can chuck the fly on.
Obviously a wet mess results. Also, designed in and for North American locations, not great for high humidity camping, like fiordland, as it turned out....
