It's tough to judge just from an ad. I’ve gone through the same thing when I was looking for a safe a while ago. After reading reviews and doing some comparisons, I found that not all safes are created equal, especially when it comes to fire protection and security features.

I did the same, 19mm ply, 4 tru bolts through the floor, 5 125mm bugle screws through the back and laminated the exterior of the door with aluminium tread plate, finished off with 5 dead bolts (separate keys).

FAL inspector said she'd seen nothing like it and asked if she could take a photo.

They are compliant and will get passed.

I have one, I keep some rifles in it.

They are still in there every time I go back to get one out.

I have never used the electronic lock.

On some safes the electronic locks can end up with flaws which become known 'cheats' to easily bypass the locking setup. On some smaller electronic safes for example the internal spring that returns the internal locking block ended up getting swapped for a much lighter and cheaper one with some of the safes from cheaper 'knock off' factories in China. On these, if you bump the safe just right and have your timing right you can bounce the locking block up and open the safe without needing to use the digital lock system. If you know this, it is an easy fix to replace the spring with a stronger one and stop the bouncing of the locking block... If you don't it's a bit of a sucky thing to find out your safe isn't.

I do prefer the key locks, much less chance of this happening.

For me, I ended up investing in a Best gun safe from Liberty Safe. It was a little more pricey, but after using it for a while, I can say it's definitely worth the investment. I feel a lot more confident knowing my guns are secure and protected.

Hi Dwinetty, thanks for the input on this topic. Might be best to head over to the intro section and tell us a bit about yourself, otherwise people begin to suspect you might be a scammer.
