hmmmmm I have a set of 10x early top end binos (carlzeiss)here and they are let down as the slop in system means its hard to keep both eyes focused..they USED to be great...was going to take them to man on other side of hill to you but a wee fire a few years ago put that on back burner (pun intended) optically they were fantastic....you have got me thinking.

My son in law has my original Zeiss 10x40s
They were and are fantastic glass despite being 35 years old
Only let down by the focus and diopter being together in a split dial wheel
So super easy to put finger on the wrong wheel and move the diopter
I think I added an O ring to help with that problem
