Excuse my ignorance but I didn't think that you were allowed to shoot them down if flying around over your property? Tho I would have liked to the odd occasion.

BUT. "I doffs me hat" to another resident here in Wanganui (without an H) who constructed an aerial attack device in an attempt to take down a drone operated by a person, who for libel protection reasons I shall not name but mention was " an old and valued client " of Constable Plods. This drone owner was by nature an irritable and antagonistic person who when not antagonising the neighbours, carried out a constant and continual character assassinations on Plod via the Trade Me message group boards until one day the envelope was pushed too much and never more was that person allowed access to the T.M Groups.
But back to the aerial attack device. The drone owner actually posted a link video of the device rocketing up from the ground in a kamikaze attack to hit his drone.
As an aside I must add, that Plod regards shooting down drones in the same jaundiced light as you shooting someone trying to rape your wife and daughters..............i.e YOU, not the offender will assuredly be prosecuted, so don't do it...... a drone ain't worth it.

You are not ignorant @kidmac42 , "Oh wise one speak wisdom"............and we all feel the same way as you .....apart from Constable Plod.

I’m hoping deer won’t get scared off if I fly high, but also more looking to use it to scope out terrain, access etc.

I live on an an H shaped intersection with a hedge between me and the parallel road. I looked out the door one night to find a set of blue and red LED lights directly over the hedge about 70m away. Not sufficient target ID unfortunately and not on my land.

I have not looked into it, but how hard is a drone gun to make?

Invading someones privacy with a drone-camera, has to take precedence (as a crime) ,compared to shooting it down. Obviously you cant do that in town, but rurally, I would happily argue the-toss in court.

Has anyone actually used a drone on Doc land?

Seen a few videos on here of drone footage, would have to say that some of it must come from doc land.

Same thing happened here on my orchard, drone cased it then robbers followed.
its a fucking maize here and the pricks managed to find a shitty trailer i had well out the back of the orchard

I will be shooting any drones I see and look forward to talking to their owners who come crying
