    Waders - Duck Shooting

My banded waders have started leaking this season. Two of my mates ones have also started leaking so I don’t really fancy another pair of them. What is everyone else using for waders duck shooting? I liked having nice breathable waders but i’m not sure I could justify spending much more then $500 for the real top stuff which I know is contrary to wanting them to not leak…

I'd say look out for a good second hand deal then. I got a pair of Magnum chest waders for 80 bucks barely worn (RRP $460) off TM.
Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy decoys

Breathable are excellent, but you need to add in the cost of the boots to the price. Any old boots will work, theyre gonna get wet and theyre gonna get dry multiple times and that aint good for boots. So any cheap old boot will do. But breathable dont stay waterproof for years and years, no matter how good they are. There are some available around the $300 mark, and they should last 2 or 3 seasons. And waist waders are often preferable to chest high, cos they still get a bit sweaty and I find waist high are more comfortable.

That opens up a lot of options and reduces cost. Neoprene for warmth and toughness, but heavy. Can't recommend a brand as I'm a bit out of date.

you can buy waders for well under $500 now..... Ive worn out a pair...and contemplating buying another BUT they would be worn for putting out and taking in decoys and that only...the long walks wearing them suck..and I kill the gumboots long before the waders themselves.
great on really cold mornings but once it heats up..far better to take them off .
