Ive had more problens with my alloy komperfell cam locks. Have carbon SnS Archery trekking poles with twist lock. Much more reliable, lighter and packable. All trekking poles have limitations, just treat them with care. They are brilliant when carrying big weight, and for the tent/fly/glassing from!

Camlock, and be weary of cheaper ones, if they fold up or fail while doing a descent with a pack on you're going for a pretty serious tumble.

I got a pair of aluminum Leki Makalu and love them. you see them come up second hand on occasion for good prices.

I use Black Diamond aluminium poles with the lever lock - not the twisty cam lock. More secure. Love using them. https://www.bivouac.co.nz/gear/campi...ing-poles.html
