Casino protech prg 250b seems to be ticking the boxes, doesn't look to big and chunky....

Have the new Gshock Mudman and its the absolute business!!!! Solar powered, has compass, moon, temp as well as all the other usual functions. All work very accurate provided you've set it up correctly to start with and is calibrated....ie set up to begin with. Solar power and compass functions were the main pull for me as when getting to the bail i got sick of having to constantly stop to check the gps. Now just pick a route and hold my baring with the compass and am away. Very happy wtih it, super durible. Love the moon function. Would be cool if it included the tide and barometer functions too, though they are avaliable in the next models up of Gshocks i just don't like the size and look of the current ones on offer at this stage. May look at an upgrade in the future if they put some out to specs im interested in.
Also have a Gshock Gulfman model and its awsome too. The one i've got is battery powered with tide and moon functions. Both spot on accurate and very handy for fishing and diving. This one is the older model, not solar powered and doens't have some of the other extras that the newer ones have.
I never leave home for the bush without the mudman!
Iv got the G-Shock mud man and like it pretty well. Just a basic watch, time, date, alarms and stopwatch but does what I need. only problem with it is that it starts fogging up on the inside after a year. Was still within warranty last year and they replaced it for free but has started doing it again. The watch stays on my wrist 24/7 so might be different if take it off for showers ect not that you should have to.
The GPS watches from Garmin look the shit but are a bit bigger and have to charge them weekly.
@lumberjack
I've got the 'simple' G-shock too.
Take it off for showers, swimming and bed - 2 years on, no problems.
Looking at my user guide - says it's pressure tested to 10M water depth - but also says 'Do not immerse in hot or warm water'.
Never tried to 'test' the depth guarantee though or the temperature.
Bought a cheap g shock in a rebel sale about 10 years ago... Just because my Seiko died... Thought I'd get a year out of it... Bloody things still going!!! Dive,hunt, swim,shower, just keeps going...
Hmmm liking the idea of solar and some even have a battery indicator...guess it's a built in vitamin d detector!
another option to the g shock is the casio protrek models. I really like mine smaller than a g with bigger time display. comp/alt/temp etc. Like gibo says alt is shit unless reset often(i Gave up) comp works well. I am a casio dealer if you a price on a certain model. mine is prg300.
