Thread: Waterproof gunbag

Anyone got a good recommendation? Plan to get out and explore a bit in my inflatable over summer and want something that will be 100% watertight to have rifle in

Twin needle made some drybags for my rifle.

Marine deals on the interweb advertise floating gun bags. No idea what they are like.

I’ve got a ‘Gun Boat’ version of one of these which I rate. I’ve not tried the Stoney Creek one, but should be just as effective.

150mm conduit pipe ,one end glued the other greased and taped into place,pool noodle etc on inside to keep rifle firm....gives waterproofing and bump protection..it may even hold enough air to keep it afloat should you tip up....

That would be a good thing considering one of my setups is worth twice what my wee boat is worth. I've already prepared my mayday call.. "save the rifle! Don't worry about me! Don't worry about the boat! Save the rifle!"

3ltr milk bottle on string clipped onto sling might not be bad idea when its not in case/tube then........

Having watched mates fluff up a beach landing in a tinny on Stewart Island, Its a real hoot watching people flounder around attempting to keep their precious rifle above the crashing waves . They turn into real contortionists. One was completely submerged, save for one arm and a sako being held aloft

The stoney creek ones are great. They're like a normal dry bag and seal well. Just needs a normal padded gun bag inside it to protect from bumps (and provide some buoyancy which is hopefully not needed!)
