    +1 WOE

My custom one cost a fraction more than a Katmandu at the time, and now I have a jacket that fits my arm length.
When they saw I had a RD address, they phoned me to discuss the jacket and upgraded the outer material to a more waterproof product free of charge. Happy happy!

Hi again, I made it to Wear on Earth facility. Highly recommend it. Staff a very knowledgeable and try to fit in all your requirements. For those that have WOE puffers. What type/model seems to best work for hunting? I’d want it for glassing/ home camp and sometimes beginning of walks to warm up.
Also what level durability would you go outer, considering trying to keep it small and compact. I’ve heard their opinion but just want some field tested feedback.
    Cheers

Just standard 20d, if you tear it just put a patch on it. I've thrashed mine and only put a hole in it if I do something silly. They're pretty hardy even the lightweight versions like mine above

I have a ton of eddie bauer stuff that I buy on eBay cheap. Ascent pants, puffy jackets, etc. Not sure that helps :/

Last week's "NZ Hunter Adventures" show had Willy Duley do a very good comparison of down jackets: synthetic vs down, weight vs warmth, durability vs weight, waterproofing variations, etc.

conclusion I got after watching that......the best one is the one you have.... and being a tightwad myself, the old synthetic one that used to be my good wear to town vest will do perfectly well... still love my polarfleece, cant see me changing completely anytime soon... got one vest made 30 years ago by girlfriend at the time..my now wife made it double sided and added more pockets,I would hate to think how many hours wearing Ive had out if it or how many ducks have been put in poachers pocket across kidneys, when weather turns to shit, the two layers really come into thier own.... a light bumfreezer jacket overtop to cut windchill and Im toasty warm. add the polarfleece crawford into mix and Im over heating..now there is an underratted bit of kit if ever there was one.

I've had a Wear on Earth waterproof jacket for about four years. Awesome jacket. And awesome service from Blair when I bought it.
If it wears out and I need another I'll just buy one. I don't care if he's $200 more than the others. I'll support him because of his products and service.

Best thing is he's about $200 cheaper than the rest, and better from what I've seen

Are the Wear on Earth jackets quiet when you walk through the bush? Nylon jackets make so much noise but need something that blocks the wind
