    I have:

    Sitka Stormfront
    Sitka Jetstream
    Kuiu Teton
    Kuiu Guide

Come to think of it I may have a problem……

Anyway, if you want the best rain jacket its hands down the Stormfront over the Teton. If you want comfort and 100% wind proof then it’s defiantly the Jetstream over the Guide. Overall I think the Sitka gear is better made I just wish they would do more solid colours. My guide jacket is OK however the stitching is coming away, the internal pockets are stuffed and it’s now become my fishing jacket.

The only issue with Sitka is the price. Although, if I consider all the money I’ve spent on Stony creak, hunter’s element, ridgeline etc then it makes the gear I have now seem like value for money.

    Hi Hayden,
The stitching on your Kuiu Guide jacket maybe covered under warranty as that shouldn't happen. If you email the details to kuiu@southpacific.com we will see what we can do

Swazi One Tough Mother or derivative is a NZ length shell raincoat that will keep you dry and breathe.

You must layer under under any shell type jacket for warmth.

I also have a Sitka Stormfront shell jacket, more technical than the Swazi OTM, with more zips, so potential for failure or a leak, but is lighter to have as a backup in the day pack.

This stuff isn't cheap, but the right gear can save lives.

Most of the stuff in hunting stores is just a joke.

Glad I had the swannie on my last trip, used as a windproof when coming down a ridge into the wind for 3hrs, single layer of merino underneath, very happy with it. Doubles as a dog blanket

Am making the choice about new wet gear about now.
Having bought a H/E packstealth last winter and also a H&F branded one after reading all the good shit they reckoned about them. Waste of money sponges.
Am going to layer up this winter and get a proper rain coat.

At least I know I wouldn't get shot... Or maybe I would as I'd look like some sort of being from another planet
