    Why not give Joe a call about his tent , He has used it in NZ ..... but not on the tops and not in fiordland

    Yes. Sensible placement lee side but do that with any tent. If you going any distance on foot it can't be beaten as a tent.

    I Have a Zpacks Triplex tent and rate it very highly.
    I Hunt with other guys that run the zpacks stuff and one particular guy has been running a zpack duplex for 8 years doing mainly tops hunting and it is still going strong.
    I have used the triplex from summer to -14 winter conditions and for the weight it is awesome!!!
    Not many other 3 person tents that weigh 900grams with poles and pegs

    Weights of tent alone (with all guy cords) and the freestanding kit/pegs and poles (instead of waking sticks)/pegs.

    Would add get the 0.67 cuben from memory in a darker colour...better stops light getting in as is a little stronger for a minor weight gain.
