Oscars first day on the lake

Will let the pics do the talking, it was Oscars first day on the lake and is his first game bird season, he is shapping into a ripper of a dog, straight into it and doing long retieves.

How do you like the camo on your gun Chris? Is it fading off? I had a pump escort few years back that went white nearly the camo came off leaving me with a gun that was bloody near white.

Thats cloth Camo tape & its great .Its fine ,hides the shiny bits on the Browning & protects it from knocks n scratches.
Dries fast & I get to peel it off after the season or replace area's as they wear.

Got out to Ellesmere this morn with the predicted gale northerlies, they arrived as promised by the weather gods and we got some bloody good shooting all morning. My brother Matt was meant to join me this morn but stuffed his ankle at footy yesterday so I went out with his boss instead, its fair to say Matt is a bit gutted

41 mallards for the morning and some great retrieves by the pup Oscar, second outing after ducks and would have retrieved 3O of them, stoked with his progress to date.

A few pics from the other day.
was up seeing if the birds were easier to get on to now there is some snow around.
They seemed to be which was good.
I finally grew the balls to have a go with the .410 too.

I spooked a covey in a gully head as I popped over the top and saw some run into some big rocky stuff, Me and the dog
worked our way above them then snuck down, before too long the dog locked up and I walked in front of him then moved toward where he was pointing
two birds got up and went hooning toward a huge wall of rock. I swung on one of them and fired and he folded up and plummeted to earth just before they disappeared behind the rock.
I was stoked, my first one with the .410 and the dog had a blinder to boot.
