re your permits ;

1/ you now need tro apply for permits through "Info@doc.govt.nz .the former doc email; address as seen in your Nth Canterbury F&G handbook for this year is wrong-that particular doc unit /visitors cenre no longer exists ..gone or to use public service legalise disestablished .
2/If youre a goosehunter on the lake youllalso need a permit for that .doc have issued me duck permits in past years though F&Gstate "small game permit" for geese.DOC in past issued me a duck permit but specified geese-I hun t both canadas and feral(greylag geese).F&Gstaff seem ok with this .
3/Te waiora-the lake is rapidly approaching its max level and Matt from Nth Canty F&G tells me hes waiting to hear if theyre going to open it given closeness of season opening .
4/ Boggy creek reserve -F&G removed every maimai from this -by hand and boat .there are 6 new 2man maimais no6 being far north the old number 10 maimai . should you or anyone you know draw it in the sweep -weel suggested you get some marathon walking practise in cause shes a bloody long way to wade (approx 1-1.5km) humping all your gear dsucks etcetc and should the lake decide its gonna get ugly a real anal sphincter squeezer.
