    Duck feeding regulations?

I've been doing some research and can't find any regulations RE feeding ponds and that sort of carry on. A nice guy I met a few months ago from the Waikato said there's a cutoff time you have to stop feeding somewhere around easter but I couldn't find any info online.

Does anyone know the rules on this?

The farmer who is surrounded by maimais on bordering farms and feeds his 2 ponds like crazy and does not shoot. Like zillions of ducks home in come opening and constantly thru the season. Why?because they flogged some of my stock. Ouch.

one of the best legends from years gone by was a F&G ranger called into settle dispute between two parties who both were claiming maimai as their own,the 2 were close together and neither party wanted to shift or share....Ranger turns up with bag of barley in his pocket...."Now gentlemen, you can play this one of two ways, either you sort your shit out and share the area,or I shal empty out his here bag of barley and neither of you will be able to shoot here"
they say the parties got along famously after that.

Ok, I have a stupid question too.....

Can farmers shoot wild ducks, wild geese and any game without a license on their own land
or regulations, rules and hunting licenses apply on private land as well?

Regulations and rules still apply, but IIRC last I heard the landowner and one other family member can shoot without a game bird license.

Different rules apply to different species, e.g Canada geese are on a different schedule so very few rules apply to them
