Duck opening , too wet ?

Another 100 mills plus of rain around Christchurch and parts of inland canterbury a lot more . There is soooooo much water around . It is putting ducks in paddocks rather than ponds and the lakes . I hope I'm wrong but I think it may be a tuff opening , your thoughts ? . Anyone no if the lakes still open ? Has it closed from this shit weather ?

Submarines don't have harpoons you dolt. Whaling ships have harpoons. Submarines have torpedoes and if Munsey used them against the ducks there would be fuck all left to eat.

The Lake is now closed. Yep was putting broom on the maimai on Thursday, water was just below my knees, ducks, geese and swans everywhere! Looking forward to it

I usually hunt paddocks and love when it floods right before opening, this year it looks like I'm shooting on the lake with my dad so the least rain the better.

Just been out checked gun and got some deeks ready. Just need to get my licence hori permit and a couple of boxes of steel

    Tēnā Koutou Katoa,

This message is to advise that the lake remains OPEN to the sea today. The cut is now approximately 70m wide.

The average level this morning was 1.03m

The next update will be sent out on Monday 5 May or earlier if the situation changes significantly. Please do not hesitate to contact Dan Harrison or myself if you have any questions.

I hate to say it but I've found fresh flooded paddocks provide some great hunting. With a heap of new food sitting waiting for them. Then again if the are well fed it may be different.

Looks like our forecast for opening will be a fine day. Ponds aren't full but have some water in them. River has cleared.
