Our duck season finished 5th June, and every day since, there have been flocks of ducks flying over my house, quacking their fool heads off. Ah well - not long to go until next season

Just a sightseeing hop for him. They fly at near 60mph sometimes. Had some flying paralell to the road one time and I was amazed when I matched their spedd with my car.

Got this fella on Saturday. Saw a couple of others, but they were very spooky, and flushing a couple of hundred metres away.

Snuck out on Saturday with a bloke from out of town, managed to dodge some of the rain. Didn't manage to dodge much of it though...
Still, a couple of roosters made the trip home with us, and any day out with a mate and the dogs is a good one.

out on sunday with a shooting mate to revisit one of our hunting sites from years ago .I remembered it for some crazy goose hunts(ferals).goin in met a shooter coming out -hed managed a couple of ducks but in typicalEllesmere style hed chad to work for them .
actually on the way out wed been graced with the sight of a young cock pheasent strolling home from sunday church ???????maybe welL he didnt seem in any hurry.
anyhow we arrived onsite to find the river in full flood with a lot of our track under water .spotted a mob of ????ducks overhead flying in the familiar v canad formation and a few way out on a flooded paddock but no nshootable.a leaisurely amble in waders sees us eyewing up yest more bloody willows earmarked for poison /removal .stuff the duck habitat etcetc all that seems to fall on deaf ears these days ,anyhow were only bloody duckshooters what would we know???out to the mouth -a few swans on the lake 4-500mout a mob of ?ferals but ducks zero.we had a good discussion on this walking back as it seems quite common in last couple of years.
great to be out on my favourite bit of country and wait for it arrive home with dry arse and dry waders!

You are cutting a fine figure in that photo Woody. Interesting that you kept your rifle bullets on your holster belt instead of the breast pocket of your waist coat.
