Yeah, pukes are a bit of a menace. At least they are native.

The bird I hate with a passion is the Aus Magpie, cant stand the nasty fcukers.

Got a few round work when we keep the wild cats down.
I like em there, after all they didn't build an industrial area on their swamp.
Can see how big numbers would be a problem on farms etc but haven't seen big numbers anywhere in Nelson.

Not exactly, the Pook is endemic, not native...

And as for the Magpie, they keep hawks away! They are welcome at my place

Not even a week ago, I watched two Maggies scrap a hawk out of the sky. I almost cheered them on

Do they also scrap our falcon?

I watched two falcon harass a hawk in some awesome airobatic dogfighting. When the hawk bugged out one went tail end Charlie to make sure it didn't come back and the other went back to a tree where i assume they had a nest and I got an ok photo of it

I think that they are beautiful, iconic and sooo silly. God was really taking the piss when he came up with Pukes.

Leave their status as they are.

Go and shoot Plovers if you want to simply shoot birds for the sake it. But I would prefer that you shot paper targets, just for the sake of it.
