    unplanned goose shoot

headed north for a few days at the beginning of the week and decided to take the gun and dekes just incase, well lucky i did as i ran into the farm manager who asked if i was able to have another crack at the geese soon, after a couple of phone calls to some local gamebird shooters we had a group of 3 ready to go. Tuesday morning rolled around and we set up before daylight, the geese flew in small mobs of around 10-15 birds, we managed to shoot 53 geese in a 2 hrs as the sea was calling us for a fish. Sorry guys but this was a far north shoot with northland boys who dont take photos and i forgot mine

Sounds like a good day out for you. Hunting and fishing all between sun up and sundown. Do they even know what a camera is that far up north?

landcorp, but a different part of the farm from the area we usually shoot, we could have stayed for a few more hours but the guys i was with wanted to go for a fish so we did.
we didnt see alot of birds, maybe 80 at the most, but 1 of the farm workers said there was 30-40 birds in the same paddock we shot about 2hrs after we finished shooting

If they feel something didn't happen without film then they're the ones with issues.
I know all of my best shots had zero witnesses to to them.

    unplanned goose shoot

You are correct barefoot, you get past taking photos or film just to prove you did something, or doing something just so you can get the photos........

To me photos are a great reminder of good times with the boys. About 15 years ago a mate of mine who is a fishing guide said to me that i must have a good store of great fishing and hunting photos... (I let go 99% of trout and the big snapper) and i didn't have many photos at all to show for it. Camera to me is a must have item on any trip now. Not just grip'n grin or hero kill shots, I just like capturing all sorts of stuff. Plus because I blog like crazy it helps add to the stories. Each to their own I guess.

Yep photos are good, but having to take them to prove something = not so great.
